CANADIAN INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS HEAD TO MONTREAL AND TORONTO FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS

Athletics Canada revealed today that the next four editions of its annual Canadian Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Montreal and Toronto.

The 2024 and 2025 events will take place at Montreal’s Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard hosted by Club Vainqueurs Plus. The 2026 and 2027 events will take over the Toronto Track and Field Centre hosted by Athletics Ontario.

“We’re very excited that the Canadian Indoor Championships will be in Montreal for the 2024 and 2025 editions and then Toronto in 2026 and 2027. Montreal successfully hosted the event for a run of five years beginning in 2014. Toronto is a great host city with a vibrant track and field community,” said Mathieu Gentès, Chief Executive Officer, Athletics Canada. “Looking ahead to the next four years, I take comfort in knowing that the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and fans can expect events of the highest caliber when some of Canada’s best track & field athletes converge in Montreal and Toronto.”

Montreal 2024 and 2025

First up will be the 2024 Canadian Track & Field Championships, to be held March 16 and 17. The following iteration of the event takes place March 22 and 23, 2025.

Vainqueurs Plus steps up as hosts of the event. The Montreal-based athletics club puts the emphasis particularly on middle-distance events, sprints, different types of jumps and throws, as well as race  walking and marathons, without forgetting para athletics.

“Vainqueurs Plus is very proud that its application has been accepted, and we see this as a great vote of confidence in the Vainqueurs Plus club on the part of Athletics Canada,” said Vainqueurs Plus president Danielle Boulanger. “It's by working as a team with our partners, federations, clubs, athletes, families and friends that we'll succeed in not only organizing a quality competition, but also in raising the profile of Canadian athletics. We wish all our athletes the best of luck as we prepare for the Paris Olympic Games. The excitement is palpable, and we hope to rise to the challenge.”

Toronto 2026 and 2027

Canada’s biggest city hosts the 2026 Canadian Indoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of York University March 14 and 15. The next year’s meet is scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2027.

Athletics Ontario is a branch of Athletics Canada, playing a leadership role in fostering and growing participation, development, equity, and excellence in athletics in Ontario.

“We sought the privilege of hosting the Canadian Indoor Track & Field Championships with a clear vision: to offer athletes a platform to demonstrate their talent, commitment, and love for the sport,” said Athletics Ontario CEO Paul Osland. “Recognizing the importance of cultivating an environment where athletes can thrive, we've meticulously orchestrated every facet of this event to support athletes in the pursuit of achieving their goals.”
